Emburse Cards Release Notes - October 28, 2026
This release improves expiration handling for cards on a legacy BIN, updates EU and UK card replacement eligibility, increases the fuel authorization hold for gas station purchases, and resolves an issue that affected organization switching after SSO when multiple Emburse Cards programs share one identity provider domain.
Highlights
- Legacy BIN expiration handling: Expiration notifications and replacement prompts now follow the correct flow for cards on a legacy BIN instead of the standard automated replacement path.
- EU and UK replacement eligibility: Eligible organizations in the EU and UK can request replacements for cards created before the previous replacement date restriction.
- Fuel pump authorization hold: Cardholders can authorize larger single fuel purchases at the pump because the temporary authorization hold increased from $100 to $175.
Improvements
CARDS
Expiration Notifications for Cards on a Legacy BIN
Cards on the legacy BIN could still receive automated expiration replacement emails and address confirmation steps even though those cards cannot follow the standard replacement flow. Expiration notifications and replacement prompts now exclude legacy BIN cards so administrators and cardholders receive the correct expiration guidance and warnings. For general expiration behavior, see FAQ: What to Do If Your Card Is About to Expire.
EU and UK Card Replacement Date Eligibility
Some EU and UK organizations could not request a replacement for cards created before an earlier replacement date restriction. Replacement eligibility now follows updated date rules for EU and UK cards so eligible organizations can request replacements when appropriate. Stripe US cards on programs that use the legacy BIN remain subject to existing replacement limits. For replacement workflows, see Report and Replace a Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Card.
Fuel Authorization Hold at Gas Stations
Emburse's issuing partner, Stripe, increased the fuel authorization hold from $100 to $175. When cardholders pay at a gas station pump, $175 is temporarily held on the card during authorization. The higher hold supports larger single fuel purchases at the pump, which can reduce the need for multiple fuel transactions. Cardholders and administrators should expect the hold to use more of the card's available budget until the final charge settles.
Bug Fixes
INTEGRATIONS
Switch Organizations After SSO From a Shared Domain
When multiple Emburse Cards programs on the same identity provider domain used SSO, users could land in the same organization after every sign-in and see errors when switching to another organization in the account. SSO and organization switching now work reliably when several programs share one domain and the same identity provider metadata.
