Card Templates

Card templates let you create reusable card settings so you can apply consistent spending limits and merchant restrictions across multiple cards.

About Card Templates

Use card templates to standardize spending limits and merchant restrictions for common card use cases.

Create a reusable template to apply the same restrictions to multiple cards.

You can create a Meal Cards template with a $15 daily limit and merchant restrictions for food and drinks only. When creating a new card, select the Meal Cards template to apply those settings automatically.

Create A Card Template

Create a template from the Cards page if you have permission to create cards.

If you can create cards, you can create card templates. For more information, see User Roles.

1. Go to the Cards page.
2. Select + Card, then select + Card Template.

3. Complete the card template details.
4. Select Create Card Template.

Create A Card Using A Card Template

Create a new card with template details prefilled.

1. Go to the Cards page.
2. Select + Card, then select the template you want to use.
3. Complete the card details.
4. Select Create Card.

Add An Existing Card To A Card Template

Apply a template to an existing card to align its settings with the template.

1. Go to the Cards page.
2. Select the card you want to update.
3. Select the menu in the top-right corner of the card.
4. Select the template you want to apply.

View Cards In A Card Template

Filter the Cards page to see which cards are assigned to a template.

1. Go to the Cards page.
2. On the right sidebar, under Group, select the template you want to view.

Edit A Card Template

Update a template’s default settings and choose whether to apply changes to existing cards.

Editing a template can also update details or spending restrictions for cards that use the template.

1. Go to the Cards page.
2. Select + Card, then select the template you want to edit.
3. Select Edit [Template Name].
4. Update the template settings.
5. Select Save Card Template.
6. When prompted, select Save & Update existing cards or Save without updating existing cards.

If you select Save & Update existing cards, the updated template settings are applied to all cards that use the template.

Delete A Card Template

Delete a template when you no longer need it.

1. Go to the Cards page.
2. Select + Card, then select the template you want to delete.
3. Select Edit [Template Name].
4. Select Delete Template.
