Okta SAML 2.0 Configuration

This guide explains how to configure your Emburse Cards and Okta accounts to enable Single Sign-On (SSO) using Okta as the Identity Provider.

Note: You must be an admin on both your Emburse Cards and Okta accounts to enable this feature.

Setup Instructions

  1. In your Emburse Cards dashboard, click "Company Settings" in the sidebar. Scroll down to "Security" and click "Enable Single Sign-On".

  2. Enter the domain of your company and click "Next". Note: only users with email addresses belonging to this domain will be able to use SSO. Before setup, at least one user with the Owner role must have an email belonging to this domain

  3. In another window, go to your Okta admin dashboard. In the navbar, click on "Applications". Click the "Add Application" button. Search for Emburse Cards and click "Add".

  4. In the "Sign-On Options" tab, select "SAML 2.0", then click "View Setup Instructions"

  5. Find the field labeled "IDP Metadata". Copy the text you see there to the clipboard. Paste the IDP Metadata into the Emburse Cards SSO setup page, and click "Save".

  6. Send an email to support@emburse.com indicating that you would like to have SSO enabled. An admin will verify the configuration and get back to you shortly.

  7. Back in your Okta dashboard, click "Done" to finish adding the Emburse Cards application.
